Human Rights

Position: Volunteer/Intern
Location: Kathmandu and Pokhara, Nepal
Enrollment: Round the year
Salary: Unpaid

Intern/volunteer will spend the first week after joining human rights program generally in familiarization activities. From the second week, students will work with human rights related NGO, INGO or other organization to know issues and simultaneously develop ideas for news, features, research work related to human rights in Nepal. Student also be can involved in a research working with the organisations.

 As intern, students write brief periodical reports, outlining his/her works and professional achievement, so that he/she could be assigned by us for writing on appropriate issues in a more relevant perspective. It is published in a human rights media which is our partner organization. Human rights intern will participate daily activities and events organized by human rights organizations in Kathmandu or other parts of Nepal. Intern writes news and takes photos for our partner media.

Intern/Volunteer also can join our research program. The main areas of research are: conflict and peace process in Nepal, women and child rights, Street children in Nepal, women trafficking problem, media and freedom of speech and more.

The research areas are not limited. We could coordinate any areas of research as student’s requirement or interest.

Eligibility: Students of sociology, anthropology, psychology, political science, Journalism, photographers, International affairs or any other related subjects of humanities could apply for this program.
